SOME THOUGHTS ON THE YEAR OF ST. JOSEPH
From Cardinal Joseph Tobin, Archbishop of Newark
Joseph, a father in the shadows..."being a father entails introducing children to life and reality. Not holding them back, being overprotective or possessive, but rather making them capable of deciding for themselves, enjoying freedom and exploring new possibilities. Joseph was not an 'absent father' but he was also not controlling or overprotective. Today we need St. Joseph's example more than ever as fathers often struggle to overcome stereotypes and establish themselves as strong but sensitive models for their children."
SHRINE IN HONOR OF ST. JOSEPH
The area around the statue of St. Joseph in the worship area has been decorated as a shrine during this year of St. Joseph. If you would like to make offerings for fresh flowers, please do so through our parish website stjosephscharlton.com or at Mass adding that your offering is for flowers for the Shrine. Thank You.
