We are a Community of Faith, called by Jesus Christ to become His hands, His feet, His heart, reaching out in love to each other, to our families, to our neighbors, to our nation and to the world. (PARISH MISSION)
A MESSAGE FROM FR. JONATHAN,
This week starts our religious education formation in the parish. I want to thank all of those who have been instrumental in setting this all up and running, especially Sister Agnes with the First Lights, Diane Cetin with Edge and Anne Marie and Lisa with Life Teen. They have been great stewards, contributing their time and talent in assisting our parish in ensuring that our youth will be receiving the opportunity to encounter Christ in new ways. A thank you also to you, parents, for signing your children up and recognizing the importance of transmitting the faith to them...
I have been in this parish for just over 21/2 months and am impressed to see how you, the parishioners, get involved in caring for your parish. The parish is yours! Not Fr. Bob's or mine, we simply have been placed here to assist in guiding the parish (both the physical structure but most importantly the spiritual well being of souls)... priests eventually come and go (I'd like to way we're a dime a dozen but we are not)... This is your parish so I think a good question to ask is, "Am I standing idle, do I get involved in the life of my parish? Do I simply come to worship on Sunday and quickly leave just to get the obligation in or do I enter into the community of believers and wish to assist in the building of the Kingdom of God through the good works of my parish? How is Christ calling me to be involved here?" There are many opportunities from Adult Faith Formation to mowing lawns. Let us know!
As always know that you are being prayed for, Fr. Jonathan
